Colors, spectroscopy, and curiosity: A day of science for Girls' Day

03.04.2025

Our research group P6, led by our colleague Prof. Adriana Pálffy-Buß, participated in Girls' Day on 3rd of April 2025.

This nationwide initiative in Germany encourages girls to explore careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

As part of the event, the team welcomed a group of enthusiastic girls to their institution, where they explored the properties of light through interactive discussions on colors and spectroscopy. A particular highlight of the day was the construction of a pseudo-hologram, sparking excitement and curiosity about optical physics and scientific research.

By offering hands-on experiences and direct engagement with researchers, the team helped show how fascinating and accessible a career in science can be. Events like Girls' Day are a valuable opportunity to inspire the next generation of scientists and promote gender diversity in STEM fields.
