From 18th to 22nd August the bi-annual meeting of the Austrian and Swiss Physical Societies (ÖPG and SPG) was held in the beautiful, historic main building of the University of Vienna.
Our scientists went all out and had their own session for our Special Research Program COMB.AT, with Prof. Lemeshko from research group P4 chairing the session. There, they held talks like “Theory of angular momentum transfer from light to molecules” and “Technical Developments of Multi-Pulse CPA for Nonlinear Spectroscopy”, and presented posters on their newest findings.
The week just after that, our group members hopped on board a train to Cologne to attend the High-Resolution Molecular Spectroscopy Colloquium (HRMS) from the 25th to the 29th of August. This event by the Laboratory Astrophysics Group covered topics like molecular dynamics, high resolution spectroscopy and applications in atmospheric sciences during 72 talks and more than 130 posters!
There, the SFB members shared more insights with their talks on “Towards the measurement of orbital angular momentum-enabled transitions in molecules” and “The R-index: A universal metric for evaluating OAM content and mode purity in optical fields” as well as attending more poster sessions. What a sunny and productive summer!
